Legislative Decree No. 199/2021 concerning the “Implementation of Directive 2018/2001/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources” (the “Decree“), as mentioned in our previous Newsletter, has envisaged new incentive mechanisms, for the regulation and identification of the relevant tariffs it will be necessary to attend subsequent decrees of the Ministry of Energy Transition.
Pursuant to the Decree, in any case, pending the issuance of such decrees, the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici – GSE S.p.A. (“GSE“), within 15 days from the entry into force of the Decree (which occurred last December 15) and subsequent to the seventh procedure set forth in the Ministerial Decree of 4 July 2019 (“RES1“), will organize further procedures by making available the remaining unallocated power.
In this regard, the GSE announced that on January 31, 2022, at 12 am, the application period to participate in the eighth procedure of Register and Auction of RES1 will be opened, specifying that the registration period will close on March 2, 2022 at 12 am and that the ranking list will be published by May 31, 2022.
The calls for tenders for the eighth procedure have not yet been announced but will be published following the publication of the rankings for the seventh procedure and will indicate, for each group of plants, the power quota not assigned in the previous procedure.
Updates will follow on the date of publication of the relative calls for tenders.
